Witherly Heights Yearender 2022

2022 has been quite a year! Even though there are still frequent reminders that we are living in an age of COVID-19, the world has begun to return to normal (well, as normal as it gets). Global supply chain issues which were largely triggered by COVID have caused record levels of inflation. The Russia Ukraine war has caused significant destruction, becoming a center of global attention. On a more uplifting note the 2022 Fifa World Cup, despite Qatar’s human rights issues, has lived up to expectations by being truly exciting and captivating as one of the most watched sporting events in the world. Domestically (again, on a depressing note), the overturning of Roe v Wade has caused decades of progress to be undone, threatening abortion rights throughout the nation. The tight midterm election added further proof of the sheer greatness of the political divide in America. There’s a lot to be cynical about, but there’s also a lot to be grateful for as well. Here are some people’s reflections on the events and experiences of the past year, as well as resolutions for an even better 2023!
