Pumpkin Spice, Fall is Nice!
Cringe name aside—I love all things pumpkin! In fact, I think pumpkin-flavored items might be one of my favorite parts of fall. There’s pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes, etc. What we don’t hear about a lot, however, is pumpkin hot chocolate…which is a tragedy because it’s the perfect hot chocolate for the fall, giving you a fuzzy, cold day feeling with the pumpkin reminding you that it’s not just winter. Anyways, here’s my go-to way for making this incredible drink!

Ingredients:
- Pumpkin puree
- Cinnamon
- Milk (any type)
- Cocoa powder
- Granulated sugar (any type)
- Heavy whipping cream
- Vanilla extract (any type)
Process:
- Heat your milk on medium heat until it begins to simmer
- Stir in your cocoa powder until you reach the desired level of “chocolatiness”
- Stir in your sugar (to taste)
- Stir in a few tablespoons of pumpkin puree and make sure that it’s mixed in completely (to taste)
- While your milk is heating, pour ¼ to ½ cup of heavy whipping cream into a mixing bowl
- Add in a teaspoon of vanilla extra and a few teaspoons of sugar (to taste)
- Whip your cream until it reaches soft peaks
- Add in a few spoonfuls of pumpkin puree and whip until it is fully incorporated (be sure not to over whip the cream—it could curdle)
- Pour your hot chocolate into a glass, add the whipped cream on top, and sprinkle with cinnamon
- Enjoy!
