Green Sprouts Guild (GSG): Alsion’s first Agroecology club

Green Sprouts Guild (GSG) is Alison’s very first Agroecology club.

Agroecology is a holistic and integrated approach that simultaneously applies ecological and social concepts and principles to the design and management of sustainable agriculture and food systems. – Food and Agriculture Organization of the United States

GSG is an extension of our gardening program at Alsion. One of the many resources that make our school unique is our garden. Our club aims to innovate the garden so our school can further engage within and around the Alsion community.

You may be wondering, this program sounds great, but what’s in it for me? GSG will provide you the opportunity to explore the field of agriculture through your community. Whether you are interested in computer science or biology, there is a place for everyone in GSG.

In GSG we encourage you to work on whatever projects you want to do in the garden. Some of our project ideas include creating an automated irrigation system, starting a greenhouse, and developing an agribusiness.

Especially if you are interested in a STEM field, Green Sprouts Guild is the perfect way to demonstrate your interest while having fun with your friends at school. You can also support us by making a donation at our Go Fund Me and following our Instagram at greensproutsguild. Contact Akshara or Kalyna for any questions or comments about GSG!
