An Oddly Specific Autumn Playlist
By Anya Patri
It’s that time of the year again; the weather’s getting colder, your neighbors are putting up ostentatious skeleton decorations, and Spirit Halloween has occupied every open building they can find. It’s too windy for shorts but too warm for puffy jackets, and the excitement of a new school year has already worn off. Autumn is, objectively speaking, the best season, which means it calls for a more nuanced mixtape than the default “Sweater Weather” playlist made each year. This season cannot be generalized- however, this playlist can showcase Fall’s multifaceted nature. These curated songs represent unique, oddly specific aspects of this season that make it so fun-filled and memorable for all of us.
These are songs for…
- When you’re on a walk, it’s windy, and the leaves are turning red-
- “Quarterback” – Wallows
- Trying to find shorts in Target but all they sell are sweaters-
- “Cardigan” – Taylor Swift
- Convincing yourself to try pumpkin spice lattes every year and hoping they taste good even though you know that they are overhyped and atrocious-

- Staying up way too late to finish the homework you’ve procrastinated on and there’s a midterm next week and you aren’t sure if you have a quiz tomorrow-
