Ever since the closure of the beloved Mission Coffee, students have been searching for an alternative cozy study and hangout spot, preferably with good snacks and drinks. Suju’s Coffee and Tea on Stevenson has been a popular option many students have turned to, and today, we review the café to see if it is satisfactory.

Suju’s food menu is rather large, with breakfast foods such as croissants and toast, but also featuring salads and sandwiches. A bacon egg and cheese croissant is recommended for a quick breakfast or snack; it was rather filling and pretty delicious. The croissant was also warm, meaning the cheese was nice and melted, and the croissant was not soggy.

Regarding the drinks, I would give Suju’s 9/10 stars. After constantly spending 6-8 dollars on drinks at chain vendors like Starbucks or TeaZenTea, the prices are very refreshing. The size of the container is much larger and the customer service is very accommodating. Alana’s and my favorite drink is the Red Velvet blended drink, it feels like you are drinking a cake! Just by looks, the caffeinated drinks also seem very appetizing. The only drink I wouldn’t recommend is the Mango Yogurt smoothie since it tasted more like yogurt rather than mango. Other than the probiotic blends, the rest of the menu looks very delicious and is worth giving a try! -Akshara

Sujus has a variety of different snacks and drinks. As a certified sweet lover, I’ve tried the red velvet cake, the chocolate cake, the red velvet cupcake, and a few of the puff pastries. If the sweets are freshly set out, they are quite delightful to eat. Whenever I feel down and want to eat a quick sweet, cheat-day treat after working out and eating healthy, I always find myself eating the red velvet cake. The cake was freshly set out so the cream cheese frosting was soft as a cloud and the red cake was moist. Together, the cake just melts in your mouth and helps you destress after a long day of school. The staff at the Sujus are also very kind, and respectful to all customers and their orders. I often like conversing with them, if they are not too busy and they all work hard to send out orders within 5-6 minutes.

Over winter break Sujus has become THE study location for me. The ambiance overall is quite nice, and the drinks are not overpriced. People of all ages from grandparents to high schoolers are found working on their research papers, doing homework, or reading books while enjoying a nice cup of coffee with a delish little snack.
