A Review and Look-Back at Alsion Middle School’s Halloween Party
By: Abinav Atreya
Alsion’s Middle School had a Halloween party. Let’s see the student body’s feelings about it and a quick look at ideas for the future.
Alsion’s middle school held a spirit week with a Halloween party this past week. Monday began as sports day, Tuesday was crazy hair day, Wednesday was twin day, Thursday was the Halloween party, and Friday was a cultural day, also functioning as a Diwali celebration. The student council gave out raffle tickets to those who participated in each day’s theme. Three winners will be called on Friday, and each would receive a gift card. The winners of the raffle were Nicando Cheung, Alister Faraldo, and Alexandra(idk last name need to ask asap cause no common classes)
The Halloween party on Thursday was the biggest event of the week. Students and staff wore costumes and participated in numerous activities such as infection tag, watching movies, and cup pong. The student council planned this event to be the first big event of the school year, and it was a resounding success. Sophie Yao said, “I liked the candy and movie, most of all.” Vyom Dixit, part of the student council, stated “We had a good amount of games, and everyone participated well.” The last interviewee was Zakariya Mansoor, who said, “The party was fun and had a lot of activities.”
There were some notable parts of the party and lead-up that people thought could be improved upon for next time. From the same interviewees, both Sophie and Zakariya noted that there probably should have been more food as the stock ran out rather quickly, and Sohan and Vyom said that a greater number of event-themed activities would have been preferable. Other than that though, all four interviewees agreed that the event was well thought out and enjoyable.
Student Council plans on sending out a form to the student body to ask for ideas on the next event. For example, a Thanksgiving party and/or a Secret Santa for Christmas. Whatever the idea is, we look forward to it, and hope that it will be as well done as this one!
