Concert Crisis
Last minute we missed our concert. Here’s what to do if you find yourself in the same predicament.
By: Ian Tan and Charlie Hoang
Last Sunday, September 29th, we (Ian and Charlie) were supposed to go to a Beabadoobee concert. Charlie bought tickets to Bea’s show at The Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA months in advance. Come to find out the day before the show, the tickets were actually for her show at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA. It seems a plainly stupid mistake to make, as it was. However, the tickets were at one point listed on Beabadoobee’s site as tickets for Berkeley.
Proof:
However unjust this was, there was nothing we could do about it at this point. It was the night before the show; Beabadoobee had already played her show in San Francisco, and the last show of her tour was the LA show we bought tickets for, happening the next day.
First, Charlie had the idea of flying all the way to Los Angeles, but soon discovered that no tickets were going out (that were not priced at $800 each). Since it was after 9 o’clock, the night before the concert, there was no online helper available to assist us. Then we had the idea of selling the tickets. Charlie sold them off for less than we bought them for, a mistake on our part, and the tickets sold in less a minute.
So what should one do if a similar experience occurs? Well, you could do what Charlie did, but sell the tickets for a profit. You could also reach out to the artist’s team, not the ticket site. This is because this particular instance occurred because of a mistake on Beabadoobee’s website. In this situation, the ticket site cannot assist in the issue as they are only liable for the isolated ticket exchange. If you find yourself in the same dilemma, you can sell it on AXS, Ticketmaster, or other trustworthy ticket resale sites. We’re sure that your tickets will sell fast. If worst comes to worst, do what Ian did! DM Beabadoobee! (she never responded).
