The Pizza of Fremont

By Ayush Hindocha and Luca Barbacioru

Bread, sauce, cheese, and toppings. The simple combination of these ingredients makes one of the most popular dishes in the world. Even with such a simple combination of ingredients, everyone has their own style of pizza. From classic Italian pizza to an Indian spin, pizza has been interpreted in so many different ways. In this review, Ayush and Luca try 8 different pizza locations around Fremont. We personally tried pizzas from each of these locations and rated the restaurant based on their service, the taste of their pizza, and the price for this pizza. Check out who came out on top!

8. Mission Pizza: 4/10

Service: 2/10

Taste: 5/10

Price: 5/10

Mission Pizza is a classic pizza restaurant that has been in Fremont for over thirty years and is known for its band performances and welcoming environment. We’ve both been to Mission Pizza many times when we were younger and the ambiance was welcoming and family dinners were very enjoyable. This time, however, we were left waiting nearly forty minutes for a $7 slice of pepperoni pizza. When the pizza finally arrived, we weren’t too satisfied with how it turned out. The crust tasted like it was previously frozen and it was quite oily. Although our experience wasn’t very satisfying, if you go to Mission Pizza for the drinks and performances, the experience is exciting and entertaining.

7. Namaste Pizza: 6/10

Service: 6/10

Taste: 5/10

Price: 7/10

Namaste Pizza is a new and small location in Fremont. We purchased pepperoni pizza in order to compare it to Mission Pizza. We waited around 15 minutes for our mini pizza and once we received it, we had to eat in our car since there’s no indoor seating. The pizza was very oily and the crust took up nearly half the pizza. If you were to get proper Indian pizza from here, you may be more satisfied with your food.

6. Pieology: 6/10

Service: 7/10

Taste: 6/10

Price: 5/10

Pieology has been in Fremont for many years now but it’s been a while since we ate there. When we arrived, it was practically empty so we didn’t have to wait in a long line. We ordered a small pepperoni and spicy sausage pizza with water and a cream soda which totaled $20. We waited around fifteen minutes and when we finally ate, it wasn’t the greatest. The sausage tasted like it had been frozen before and the pizza was way too oily for our liking.

5. Mountain Mike’s: 6.5/10

Service: 6/10

Taste: 6.5/10

Price: 7/10

Mountain Mike’s is one of the most popular pizza places in Fremont. We ordered a small pepperoni pizza and had to wait around 20 minutes. Mountain Mike’s pizza is what you expect from an American-style pizza: oily, cheesy, and overall pretty fatty. The pizza is definitely not the worst pizza from what we tried, but if you’re out with some friends, Mountain Mike’s is definitely an option.

4. Dominos: 8.3/10

Service: 8/10

Taste: 7/10

Price: 10/10

In our opinion, Dominos is one of the best pizza restaurants in Fremont. Although we ranked it #4, it has the best pricing of all the locations and has very fast service. Considering how fast Dominos is, the taste definitely isn’t the best of all but it’s still very satisfying and it’s Ayush’s go-to pizza place for take-out.

3. Mod: 8.3/10

Service: 9/10

Taste: 8/10

Price: 8/10

Mod has great service and a nice indoor seating space at the restaurant. The pizza comes out fast and nearly perfect. It isn’t too oily, the cheese is melted to near perfection, and the meat has lots of flavors. After eating at Mod, we couldn’t complain. The taste is definitely not the best but the combination of its great service, great taste, and fair pricing, we gave it the #3 spot.

2. Curry Pizza House: 8.7/10

Service: 9/10

Taste: 9/10

Price: 8/10

Curry Pizza House serves a variety of different Indian-style pizzas and wings. Their pizzas consist of paneer pizza, chicken tikka pizza, and a curry veggie delight. The pizza comes out fast and tastes amazing compared to Namaste Pizza. With whatever pizza you purchase, we’re sure you’ll be satisfied with the service and flavor. Can’t go wrong with some Indian pizza!

1. Blaze: 9.2/10

Service: 9/10

Taste: 9.5/10

Price: 9/10

Blaze pizza seems to be the most popular pizza restaurant in Fremont with its long lines and popular location. Blaze is at the #1 spot because it has some of the best-tasting pizza considering its pricing and waiting time. Even when crowded, the wait time for pizza is under 20 minutes and the pizza quality is still consistently perfect. Everything is baked to perfection, it’s the perfect temperature, the meat and veggies taste fresh, and the crust is very flavorful.

Fremont has dozens of different pizza options to choose from and choosing our number one spot wasn’t easy. Curry Pizza House and Mod had some great value in their pizza but, in the end, Blaze came out on top as the BEST pizza restaurant in Fremont.
